DOOLEY ELEMENTARY PTA VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS
Arts in Education/Reflections - This program provides a venue for students to created and be recognized for original works of art based on a selected theme. Help is needed in collection, judging and publicizing this program. Time commitment is flexible. Training is available.
Book Fair - Be a part of an event that encourages our children to read. Assist children and parent in selecting and paying for book fair items. Help coordinate, publicize and run the event. Time commitment can run the length of the week long event or short shifts as your schedule allows.
Dragon Press (Student Publishing) - The Dragon Press is a PTA-sponsored and staffed student publishing service. Help by working with students on their rough draft, editing, typing, assembling and much more.
Environmental - Help the chairperson with environmental events encouraging the students to be earth friendly. Help conduct the environmental poster contest, judging and recognition. Assist in the school cell phone/printer cartridge recycling program.
Holiday Catalog Fundraiser - Assist in the organization and distribution of catalog orders. Time commitment is flexible.
Hospitality - Help prepare and organize a host of treats for the Dooley teachers, guests and families. Help is needed throughout the year as your schedule allows. Help is needed with refreshments, decorations, themed parties, serving and cleanup. Time commitment varies depending on event.
PESH Graduation - Honor former Dooley Students! You will assist in hosting a reception for Dooley Alumni graduation from PESH and other High Schools. They will get to see their former Dooley teachers.
Office Aide - Help office staff answer phones, laminate, sort papers and many more impromptu jobs. Training is available. Flexible schedules and lunch relief for the office staff is greatly needed. The chairperson will coordinate a calendar of volunteers for staffing.
Online Auction - Assist with collection donations, setting up and running the event. Variable time commitment.
Spirit Wear - Help distribute and see Dooley T-shirts and sweatshirts at school functions to promote school spirit. Time commitment is flexible.
Teacher Appreciation Week - Assist in developing plans for Teacher Appreciation Week in the spring. Week long themed events are planned for teachers during the week. This is a fun and great way to show your pride in our Dooley teachers and staff.
Ways & Means - Assist with fundraisers by setting up, collecting money, etc. Flexible schedule.
Yearbook - Assist with collecting photographs, prepare pages for the yearbook, publicize and distribute the yearbook. Time commitment is flexible and yearlong.
Youth Protection - Assist with Drug Awareness Week. Also assist with McGruff program. Variable time commitment.
